One Nation One Election way towards Presidential form of government

Mr Modi has once again advocated the idea of One Nation One Election and a single Voter List as well saying the election taking places every few months hinder developments.

PM Modi made strong pitch for simultaneous election, he said One Nation One Election is not an issue of deliberations but also need of the country. How the idea is feasible for the country like ours considering the Lok sabha and state Assembly term is not synchronized.

I just want to recall you we had this model like One Nation One Election from 1952-1967, it means both both the General Assembly and state Assembly elections were held together. Since 1970, when certain assemblies were dissolved prematurely due to some political reasons. Therefore, the cycle was broken.

Again, in 1983, Election commission of India (ECI) pitched for the need to bring back the Old Model in which election to the House of People and legislative Assembly are held simultaneously.

Similarly the Law Commission in 1999, headed by justice Reddy said that we must go back to the situation where Lok sabha election and state Assembly election are held at once.

NITI AAYOG, Law Commission, ECI invoked the ideas, but political will was always missing to bring back the issue on public discourse. Mr Modi has shown his political will for big  transformation.

We have just seen election in Bihar and we are waiting for the next elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat after that the General election will come in 2024, so  elections are held at different places every few months.

But the question is how is it going to benefit the country in the long run?. Mr Modi when he came to assume the post of pm, propounded this idea in 2014, since then he has been talking.

The One Nation One Election will curb on misuse of government machinery, duplication of efforts of returning officers, expenditure, affecting budget, and attention of National party remain in election mode throughout a year hinder development. About 60000 crore rupees spent on the 17th Lok sabha election held last year. 5500 crore rupees can be saved every year if we adopt new model of election that will not only help in expenditure but also help in duplication of efforts.

Some critics are saying that it is against of federalism ,I just want to say we must go through our history how this model worked better. They also argued that it will make regional party weak and national issues will dominate in places of regional issues , I think this New model will instill National vision among regional parties.

If you observe the elections held in India over five to six years you clearly find here Modi wave worked like what happens in the presidential form of government like in the USA. Is Modi wave not like Presidential form of election. If the Indian constitution needs amendment it should be done for the betterment of our New India.

India will very soon become the member of security council.

Hey! Welcome again. Here in this topic we shall try to know how India can be the member of United Nations security council. The efforts India has been pushing for decades turned down by invoking veto. India, a big contender, has been pushing it's demand for making alternation in the structure of UNSC. But the deterrent China bringing impediments in the way make India cry.  India has made remarkable progress in all sectors and has also strengthened it's foreign policy than ever. India is the biggest trade partner of China followed by the US.  The recent developments took place in the interests of India shocked many when India became the member of MTCR in 2016 supported by G7. China had nothing to say about this development. In 2019, when the article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir was scrapped, that time China had nothing to say. In 2021, when UNO desinated Masood Azhar as a global terrorist list, China not invoked veto and passed any comments.  In 2024 S...
