Recently there is a surge in the cases of conjunctivitis, is commonly known as Madaras eye infection disease in Tamil Nadu. And the State Health department has issued a warning notice also gave advised to take isolation to prevent this infection.
It is worth noted that, Tamil Nadu is in the grip of active monsoon and cases related to conjunctivitis is increasing rapidly due to incessant rain.
Conjunctivitis/ Madaras eye
It is an eye infection disease, commonly known as Madaras eye, caused due to either bacteria or viral infection.
In 90 percent cases, it is caused due to Adonovirus.
It spread fastly in children and it's symptoms are redness, itchiness, grittiness, and irritation.
