The conference of parties COP 27 was held in Al Sheikh, Egypt. This year Mangrove Alliance for Climate  (MAC) was launched with a great participation of India and other nations headed by UAE and Indonesia.

This initiative was launched laying emphasis on the importance of mangrove forests, its importance and how does it control our climate.

This initiative was launched under the leaderships of UAE and Indonesia. Because these are the harsh victims of the changing climate.

UAE has showed its intention to increase its mangrove forests by 3 million in the next two months and 100 million by 2030.

MAC is an inter-governmental alliance. It has no any regulatory to control and supervise to check its accountability.

Parties will themselves make their commitment, time frame and responsibilities. This alliance will collaborate with each other and try to find out a better and sustainable solutions to all.

Mangrove and its importance.

Mangrove are small trees grown in swampy areas and its roots are deep rooted in the water. These are grown in salty water. It survives also in less oxygen. Mangroves have always been the center of attention of the environmentalists and conservationists. It would be very difficult to ignore its continuing efforts in environmental protection.

But mangroves forests are facing a lot of challenges like people cutting the trees, deforestation, and other activities somehow affecting mangroves.

It's importance can be gauged from the facts that it is best for ecological balance. It makes soil more fertile and increases its efficiency.

Since it covers large areas, a variety of species make the environment more clean and balancing ecology.

Mangroves also help in controlling oceanic waves and tides. It also makes Blue Carbon on surface, when their leaves shed on surface.

It also helps to coral reefs and sea grasses. Fisheries activities will be benefited.
