National voters day is celebrated on 25th of January every year. This year it has taken a theme "making elections inclusive, accessible and participative" and this day pays great tribute to each and every voter of the country and highlights the immense value of everyone's votes.
In many parts of the world the right to vote was achieved after a long struggle. In India, the right to vote was granted to all adult citizens at the same time when India won her freedom.
There are various reforms made by the election commission of India. It offers to apply for registration four times in a year. Earlier only on 1st of January was fixed for applying for registration. 1st january,1st April,1st July and 1st October are the dates fixed for applying for registration.
Linking voters' Id Card with Aadhar is another successful story of the election commission of India. Senior citizens above eighty years can cast their votes through posts. Diviyang jan and COVID patients are too allowed to give their votes through posts.
The election commission of India has also brought transparency in their system by "started voters help line App" is meant to facilitate the voters during voting. The "know your candidates" is another useful App for the candidates who seek information about their candidates fielded in the election. It helps the voters to know number of cases relating murder, kidnapping, cheating and other cases lodged against him.
