Mission LIFE

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Mission LIFE from Gujarat. This is a mass movement about changing in lifestyle and sync with the changing of environment. It is a Pro planet mission launched by Modi envisioned people to become trustee of the environment. LIFE stands for Lifestyle for Environment. PM Modi announced about this mission at the COP 26, conference of parties meeting, held in Glasgow, Scotland last year.

It is well said that if you want to bring change in the world, it should starts from you. LIFE movement advocates this principle. It is an attempt to change people into Pro-planet people.

It encourages people to approach a sustainable life style at different levels- individual, domestic and community. To develop community solutions with a short prayers.

Why is it important?

it's importance can be gauged from the fact that, about 500 billion plastic bags are used every year in the world. Although, the Indian government has completely banned single use plastic last year, people still using them, the effort made by the government to ban single use plastic is little bit helping in awaring people and making them to think about it's implications. Even illiterate or less educated people have developed a sense of awareness about the uses of plastic. They are now inclining towards jute products. It is also called golden fibre. Diversification of jute is very essential to become a popular use.
The per capita waste of water is 2.5 litre. Water itself a resource and is very important. Life can not survive without water. If we use light, AC and heater juducialy, we can save energy upto 282 kilowatt.

In this time, our Earth is facing trio challenges like climate change, pollution, damaging and loss of biodiversity. This decade witnesses the hottest summer for nine years in a row. This year record heatwave, dought and floods severely affected.
Although in the COP 21 , Paris climate change meeting, a slew of measures were taken and it's members vowed to minimise it's carbon emissions at some certain level by some fix year. But one thing, it should be noticed that what would we with our promises made in the meeting if our planet dies. It means the members which vowed to reduce it's carbon emissions after 40, 50 years later would not very effective.

What is the working methodology?
In 2017, Richard Theller, an American economist, gave the Nudge theory. This theory tells us that a man can be compelled to choose a specific option by changing in an environment.
We have many techniques used before like shorten the size of plate to save food. To place waste materials at a specific area. Making cycle lane in a road helps in cleaning of environment, reducing the dependency on fossil fuels vehicles.
This method helps us to make our system environment friendly. To form Pro planet people group by 2027.
In this mission, people try to learn and become more accountable to their environment. It is mass movement and can be successful if all people understand their duties, responsibilities.
