NITI Aayog | Planning Commission
The NITI stands for National Institution for Transforming India. It was established on 1st January 2015, by a resolution of Government of India. Chairman of the NITI Aayog is Prime Minister. The current chairman of the NITI is Mr. Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister and Chief Ministers are the members of NITI Aayog's Governing Council.
Arvind Pangariya is the first Vice Chairman of the NITI Aayog. The current Vice Chairman of the NITI Aayog is Shri Suman Beri. Dr K. Rajeshwara Rao is the current secretary of the NITI Aayog.
Functions of NITI Aayog
NITI Aayog plays very important role bolstering federalism, empowered states in decision making for better planning.
It implements schemes and initiatives for rural development.
It ensures economic strategy and policy work in the interest of national security.
It gives advice and encourage partnership between key stake-holders. Release data related to educational and academics.
