National News.
1. The centre has approved the installation of ten nuclear reactors in five states across India. The information was shared by Atomic Energy minister Dr. Jitendra Singh in the Parliament.
- The government has roped in PSUs for the installation of reactors.
- The reactors will be developed at a cost of Rs 1,05,000 Crore.
- Installed nuclear capacity is set to increase from 6780 MW to 22480 MW.
2. Jammu and Kashmir witnesses rise in land purchases and investments.
- 185 non-UT residents bought land in Jammu and Kashmir in 3 years.
- In 2020 only one person bought the land while 57 persons bought in 2021 and 127 in 2022.
- The law Article 370 which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir was scraped on August 5, 2019, since then any outsider have rights to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir.
International News.
1. Finland joins NATO.
- Finland joins US-led North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, which shares a 1,340 km border with Russia, ended 70 years policy of neutrality between Soviet Union and West was known as "Finlandisation".
- Finland is now the 31st member of the NATO.
2. WHO celebrates 75th anniversary.
- It has 194 members.
