National News.
1. ISRO launched its first Solar mission called Aditya L1 which is named after the Sun God.
- It is launched from Sriharikota off Andhra Pradesh by PSLV XL rocket.
- It will travel a distance around 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth which accounts for 1% of the total length between Earth and the Sun.
- It is launched with an outlay of 378 Crore rupees.
- It will reach the L1 point of the sun in 109 days.
2. The third meeting of INDIA, an alliance consists of 26 members of opposition parties held in Maharashtra.
- A 14 member Coordination committee was formed which has been assigned a work seat sharing.
3. The centre has formed a panel under former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore the feasibility of One Nation One Election.
- All arrangements are being done for photo shooting in the special session of the parliament, sparking another set of speculation as such picture is generally taken at the beginning or end of the parliament term.
- Kovind too had echoed Modi's view and expressed his support to the idea after becoming president in 2017.

- Japan's defence minister asked for a record 7.7 trillion yen ($ 52.67 billion) in spending for the 2024 fiscal year, PM Fumio Kishida's plan to boost military spending 43 trillion yen over five years.
